In June, Studio Art Instructor, Amy Haney, participated in a competitive printmaking workshop at the prestigious Crown Point Press in San Francisco to further develop her current body of work. Described as “the most instrumental American printshop in the revival of etching as a medium of serious art,” Crown Point Press was established as a printshop under distinguished printmaker Kathan Brown in 1962.
During this workshop, Haney engaged with different printmaking techniques, including flat bite, chine collé, and hard ground crackle and worked with in-house Master Printers trained by Brown. Amy plans to employ the techniques explored during the workshop in her own art and to introduce them to students in introductory and intermediate printmaking classes at UNO.
