During June of 2019, The National Art Education Foundation (NAEF) announced that it had awarded Dr. Lilly Lu, Associate Professor of Art & Art History and head of its Creative Media & Visualization (CMAV) Lab, a grant of $10,500 through its Research Grant Program.
Dr. Lu’s grant-funded project entitled Teaching and Learning Art and Design in the Virtual Age: Affordances and Applications of Augmented and Virtual Realities for Art & Design Education will investigate the affordances and applications of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) as new art media and learning platforms for art and design education.
A sister organization of the National Art Education Association (NAEA), NAEF supports visual art educators and promotes the teaching of art through professional development, research, and program sponsorship. NAEF grants are highly competitive. This year a total of 14 grants were awarded from the 44 proposals submitted for funding.
